> Here's a list of quilt dimensions to help you make your quilt "just the right size:

          Twin - A quilt made to fit a twin-size bed should measure at least 63" x 87".
          Double - A quilt made to fit a double-size bed should measure at least 78" x 87".
          Queen - A quilt made to fit a queen-size bed should measure at least 84" x 92".
          King - A quilt made to fit a king-size bed should measure at least 100" x 92".

> If you are just starting out, pick a small project like a wall hanging, table runner, or a pillow. They are easier to maneuver    and quicker to complete.

> Template free designs allow you to cut multiple pieces at one time and quick piecing techniques can be used.

> Choosing easy blocks help to teach the basics of quilting and how color choices work together.

> Using thin batting like Warm & Natural and Warm & White are easier to quilt and maneuver.

> Cotton fabric is easier to work with, holds a crease well, and is available in a wide range of colors. Also, 100% cotton    material doesn't     pucker a much as a Poly/Cotton blend when washed.

> Always use 1/4" seams, and keep the seams uniform.

> Glue small pieces of sandpaper on the backs of your rulers to keep them from slipping on the fabric when rotary cutting

> Use blunt tipped Fiskars kid scissors for snipping threads. No chance of accidentally snipping through the fabric but the    blades are sharp enough to easily snip threads.

> Make half-square triangles slightly larger size than the finished requirement, and then square them to size.

> Save your empty cardboard tubes from Christmas wrapping paper and roll your quilts onto the tubes to store them. The    quilts will not wrinkle in the closet.
